MISSION STATEMENT: VibeNo_8 is a Talent-Focused Slum Media Publisher & TV channel with an aim to showcase the various talents that we have in our Informal settlements in Nairobi. The targeted informal settlements include Kibera, Mathare, Kawangware, Kangemi, Kariobangi, Mukuru slums among others. For a long time the talents from the informal settlements have always been ignored with the perception of people from these regions being primitive and lack creative skills. but VibeNo_8 is here to show that informal settlements is home to people with great amazing skills in art and sports.
VISION: We actively seek to realize a community in which talents are appreciated, nurtured, exposed and rewarded accordingly. A community where no one is afraid to come and exercise their unique creative skills without fear of being intimidated or judged.
OBJECTIVES:
1. We seek to create platform for Artists and sports men & women to speak about their talents and skills, the challenges they face and the struggle they have to put in each and every day to overcome these challenges given that they come from slums and other differents regions that fall under the informal settlements.
2. We seek to create employment opportunities for youths in these targeted informal settlements with potential to become video editors, Presenters, Tv Reporters, Djs, Television Program technicians and producers, stand up comedians among many more opportunities that will be created through VibeNo_8
3. We seek to create platform that can award talents in these informal settlements through coming up with Award ceremonies in partnership with like-minded organisations. these awards come be organised either annually or as arranged with the partners and each settlements can have their own form of organizing these awards. Skills that are appreciated give birth to more creativity and inspiration.
4. We seek to come up with print out mini magazines that updates the community members on the various talented individuals and sports persons within the community, plus the different opportunities that are available to different individuals with talents but without the opportunity and platform.
